The surf beach offers spectacular views of the beautiful Gold Coast, and you can catch glimpses of the majestic humpback whales migrating north to breed during whale watching season, which starts in June and runs through to late October. Please note as the campgrounds are located in a Conservation Park dogs are not permitted on the island.

There are three camping grounds on South Stradbroke Island, including Tipplers at the northern end of the Island, North Currigee and Currigee at the southern end. All campgrounds have toilets and showers.
Tipplers campground offers four Wallaby Tents. Camping sites at Tipplers vary in size, accommodating 100 tents in total. Gas BBQs, children's play area, a short walk to the Tipplers Kiosk that has basic groceries and camping supplies including ice and firewood.
Located around an inlet ideal for mooring boats, North Currigee campground offers 20 smaller sized camp sites that can each accommodate one average sized or two smaller tents.
South Currigee campground offers 6 Wallaby Tents that sleep 4 people, 1 tent that sleeps 2 people and one self-contained cabin that sleeps 4-6 people. 60 camp sites can each accommodate 1-2 average sized tents. Currigee campground offers campers access to BBQs as well as a children's play area. The campground office has a mini kiosk for all your camping needs.
