Lake Jindabyne is an easy two hour drive south from Canberra, through Cooma, on the Monaro Highway and is the doorway to the NSW snowfields and the Kosciusko National Park. In winter Jindabyne is a base for skiers bound for the major resorts in Kosciuszko National Park and for the rest of the year it's a great place from which to go bushwalking, mountain biking, white-water rafting, canoeing, horse riding and kayaking. The lake provides superb opportunities for trout fishing and water sports. The lake is the catchment area from the Snowy, Thredbo and Eucumbene Rivers, though the only volume of water comes from the Thredbo arm, which provides the breeding grounds for the lake's wild trout population. There is also a wide range of local businesses that are within the same complex as the Snowline Holiday Park including a service station with chain hire, fishing tackle shop, tours and ski hire, Thai restaurant and café. Snowline Holiday Park is the ideal highlands escape whatever the season.
