Clarence River Wilderness Lodge Accommodation... Cabins – 2 x fully self-contained cabins, which sleep 8 people and 4 people in double and bunk beds, wood fired hot water system, gas stove, gas fridge, cooking utensils, solar powered lighting, outside paved open fireplace with BBQ for those who enjoy food cooked over an open fire and evenings under the stars. Guests need to bring their own bedding, food and beverages. Bushman Huts – 4 x secluded huts, authentic, nestled into the hillside with private veranda views, shared amenities and camp kitchen, sleeps 2 to 4. Camping - 5ha of mown river flats right beside the river, small amenities block providing wood-fired hot showers and composting toilet. Secluded campsites are also available on other parts of the property, where you need to bring your own shower and toilet facilities. Clarence River Wilderness Lodge Features... The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge can provide a range of activities during your stay. The canoes are available free of charge for guests, if used within the confines of the waterhole at the lodge. For extended down river trips, a hire rate is incurred. Snorkels and masks are available for guests for viewing the underwater activities. 	Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, just 3 hours from Brisbane is situated on the headwaters of the Clarence River in the rugged Great Dividing Range - A forgotten pocket of Australia, where nature reigns supreme. 4000 hectares of river crafted country has been preserved in a wildlife refuge that is noted for the diverse abundance of its native animals and the wild splendour of its scenery.
		School Groups ... The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge specialises in expedition canoe trips for school groups on the Clarence and Nymboida Rivers. These programs are tailored to suit the schools requirements for time frame and budget. A typical program would run for 5 days with time included for travelling and skills training. We also operate base camp programs, in conjunction with other outdoor companies that can provide a range of activities.
	Sharon and Stephen have lived here for over 20 years and have an intimate knowledge and love of the bush and the river. The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge is home to many rare and endangered native species, such as the Brush Tailed Rock Wallabies, which can be found sunning themselves on the rock ledges opposite the Lodge. Platypus viewing is for the early risers. These unusual monotremes feed at first light and mainly frequent the wider section of the waterhole. The front gate to Clarence River Wilderness Lodge is 35km from the Bruxner Highway, 7km past Paddy's Flat Bridge. The lodge is situated on 4000ha, within which there are tracts of rainforest and 8km of river frontage. The last 7km of road into the Wilderness Lodge is a private road that descends 500m in 2km and is consequently steep and rough in places. If entering with a 2WD it would need to have reasonable clearance and NOT be towing a trailer. Using low gear is recommended. The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge offers a tow in and out service for trailers.
