Lake Glenbawn State Park is just 15 minutes from the town of Scone, which has a good shopping centre with cafes, restaurants, hotel and service station. Aberdeen is also only 15 minutes away, although a smaller town, you can buy all essential provisions there.
The park is great for barbeques and picnics, or bushwalks and other recreation in a natural setting. For weekend or longer holidays, holiday cabins and campsites offer breathtaking views and there are many recreation facilities. Lake Glenbawn is renowned as one of the best freshwater fishing spots in New South Wales. Cast a line and you can catch bass, golden perch (yellow belly), Murray cod, trout and catfish. |
